WHO: State College Area High School Thespians
WHAT: Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach TYA (One Act Version)
Roald Dahl's fantastical tale of a boy, his insect friends, and their amazing journey across the ocean on a giant peach of fruit. Book by Timothy Allen McDonald
Words and Music by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul
Based on the book James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
WHEN: November 20 and 21 at 7 pm, and November 22 at 2 pm
WHERE: State College Area High School – North Bldg. Auditorium
THE STORY: critics rave James And The Giant Peach is a "masterpeach!" When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion which results in a tremendous peach - and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James' quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building.
A delightfully offbeat adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl adventure, the creative possibilities with James And The Giant Peach are endless. Actors will love playing the outlandish characters and performing brand new material from one of Broadway's hottest duos.
COST: Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for youth, and $5 for children 10 and younger. Please call the box office (231-4188) and leave a message to reserve tickets beginning November 2.
