• I served SCASD as a counselor at the High School for 32 years and it was my privilege to serve as Head Counselor of the High School Counseling Dept. for the last seven of those years.  Beginning August, 2018, I transitioned to the role of SCASD Family & Community Engagement Counselor.  I am looking forward to working with new faces around SCASD and reaching out to families and the community at large in this new capacity.
Through my experiences at State High,  I have gained a wealth of knowledge about the college application process and financial aid and have had many years to hone my skills as a practiced listener.  I believe in the philosophy of servant leadership which focuses primarily on the well-being and growth of people and the communities to which they belong.  Servant-leadership believes in shared power and puts the needs of others first, while helping people to develop themselves and to perform at the highest level possible.
I earned both my masters degree in Secondary School Counseling and my undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Education at PSU. Living in Centre County, PA. and working within SCASD for my entire career has given me a deep institutional understanding of the school district and an extensive opportunity to make many various community connections.  My true passion, however, is being the mother of two adult children (ages 23 and 26) and traveling with my wife.
