Since 2002 I have had the pleasure of working at different schools in the district as Counselor and Itinerant Emotional Support teacher but am delighted to be serving full time at Ferguson Township Elementary.

Prior to working for SCASD I worked for Penn State University at the Bellefonte Area School District on a project called FAST Track.  Working with Dr. Mark Greenberg and Dr. Karen Bierman in a prevention project, we provided Friendship Groups, Mentoring, Tutoring, and Parent Groups to participating families. In addition I worked with elementary school teachers to implement the social-emotional skills curriculum, PATHS.

My graduate degree in Counselor Education is from Penn State University, with an undergraduate degree from Hope College in Michigan.  Prior to getting my counselor certification, I taught at private Quaker schools here in State College and in Philadelphia.  I"ve also taught swimming and diving, and served as Camp Counselor at three different summer camps.

I love working and playing with children and enjoy every day, even when children present difficult problems.  I respect children and know that often they provide the best information about what will help them most.
