Penn State, undergraduate degrees in secondary education and journalism, 2008

I'm completing my Gifted Letter of Endorsement at Millersville University.
English and drama teacher, Altoona Junior High School, six years
Principal, McAuliife Heights at Irving Elementary, Altoona Area School District
After a few years in administration, I wanted to go back into the classroom to reflect on my professional career and spent a year (2016-2017) as a gifted support and learning enrichment teacher at Park Forest Middle School before moving into my current role for SCASD.
I am also an adjunct faculty member and teach a graduate level Technology Tools in the Curriculum course for Wilkes University. One of my fondest loves of teaching is working with teachers to use technology to inform, organize, and support both teacher and learner success both in and out of the classroom. I frequently guest lecture at St. Francis University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania in education courses.
I support creativity and risk taking in the classroom, promoting STE(A)M education, and creating learning environments that support the many needs of our diverse learners.
I am a strong believer in blended learning opportunities and transforming education to meet the social, academic, and technological needs of the 21st century learner. As a communications educator, I strongly believe in working to build customized learning options for learners in an ever-changing, global society.
I also work heavily as a co-chair for the Alumni-Student teacher network with the College of Education at Penn State and the College of Education Alumni Society.
I’m an avid traveler and a die-hard Penn State fan and so glad to be living in working in the happiest of valleys.
