W. Watts

    Mrs. Wendy Watts

    Physics Teacher

Mrs. Watts has been teaching physics at the State College Area High School since 2002.  She earned her Bachelors of Science in Engineering Science from Penn State in 1999.  And she earned her teaching certification in 2002.
Mrs. Watts has taught a range of physics courses including Integrated Chemistry & Physics, Phyiscs 1, AP Physics B (course prior to AP Physics 1+) and Advanced Phyiscs 1 (course nested with Advanced Engineering Technology).  She has especially enjoyed collaboratively developing and teaching the physics portion of Adv. Physics 1 & AET.  The course has provided her the opportunity to unite her interests in engineering, physics and teaching while simultaneously supporting and encouraging students interested in careers in STEM fields.
At the middle school level, she has been a teacher in the Challenging Science Investigations (CSI) since 2006.  The after school program, supported by the local AAUW, provides middle school girls an opportunity to learn about engineering and science fields while completing design challenges and a crime scene mystery.
