Mrs. Wendy WattsPhysics Teacher
Mrs. Watts has been teaching physics at the State College Area High School since 2002. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Engineering Science from Penn State in 1999. And she earned her teaching certification in 2002.Mrs. Watts has taught a range of physics courses, including Integrated Chemistry & Physics, Physics 1, AP Physics B (course prior to AP Physics 1+) and Advanced Physics 1 (course nested with Advanced Engineering Technology). She has especially enjoyed collaboratively developing and teaching the physics portion of Adv. Physics 1 & AET. The course has provided her the opportunity to unite her interests in engineering, physics, and teaching while simultaneously supporting and encouraging students considering careers in STEM fields.At the middle school level, she was a teacher in the Challenging Science Investigations (CSI) from 2006 to 2019. The after-school program, supported by the local AAUW, provides middle school girls an opportunity to learn about engineering and science fields while completing science and design challenges.
