- Spring Creek Elementary School
- Meet Mr. Leitzell
Leitzell, Stuart, 3rd grade
-
My name is Stuart Leitzell and I am a 3rd grade teacher at Spring Creek Elementary. I was born and raised in State College and graduated from State High in 1995. Upon graduating high school, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Great Falls, Montana where I was a firefighter.
I have had the pleasure of being part of the school district for the past 13 years. This will be my 11th year teaching 3rd grade. I have taught 1st grade at Lemont and I also have taught Title I reading and Math at Houserville, Gray's Woods and Radio Park Elementary schools. In December of 2006, I graduated from Lock Haven University earning a degree in Elementary Education. In 2002, I earned a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. Growing up in State College, I know how important education is and I enjoy developing students into life long learners.
I enjoy playing golf, reading, and spending time with my wife Brigitt, son Cooper, our dogs Chewie (labradoodle) and Sophie (dachshund).
I believe that for learning to take place it takes a great team. I consider you, the parent, an integral part of this team. I look forward to working with your child throughout the school year.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at school or sal13@scasd.org.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to meeting all of you.
Sincerely,
Stu Leitzell
