Kindergarten students work and play hard throughout our school day. Having a ten to fifteen minute quiet time each afternoon helps us to recharge. Students may read a book, draw quietly, or rest during quiet time.
Research shows that switching activities, providing movement and practicing mindfulness allows the resting pathways of the brain to restore their calm focus and foster optimal mood, attention, engagement and memory. We will provide brain break opportunities throughout our day in kindergarten with group exercise, dance, walking, yoga for kids, mindful moments and more.
