Hello!
My name is Mrs. Olivia Dreibelbis and I will be your child’s first grade teacher. I am excited and grateful to be teaching first grade again at Mount Nittany Elementary this school year.I am an alumnus of Penn State University and majored in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, specializing in grades PK-4 and minored in Special Education. During my senior year at Penn State I was a Professional Development School (PDS) intern at Gray’s Woods Elementary in first grade. After graduating, I accepted a first grade teaching position at Mount Nittany Elementary and this will now be my sixth year teaching first grade at Mount Nittany Elementary. I am currently working on obtaining a Master's of Science degree in Special Education with a concentration in Social, Emotional, Behavior Wellness. I am a firm believer in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and the importance of incorporating SEL into every school day.
Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family and my 'fur babies'. I have two dogs, Gemma and Jax. These two keep my husband and I on our toes as they are always up for an adventure. On the weekends when I am not walking my dogs or spending time with family, I love to watch football! I love to cheer on the Penn State Nittany Lions, and my favorite NFL team, the Buffalo Bills! I also love to use my weekends to travel and visit my family that lives in New York. I have family that lives in Buffalo, New York (which is why I have been a long time Bills fan), and family in Long Island, NY. This combination can make things tricky when deciding who to cheer for with dedicated fans of the Giants and the Bills in my family.
If you have any questions, please never hesitate to contact me at org16@scasd.org, and we can always set up a time to chat. I am always willing to set up a time to have a conversation.
I look forward to working with you, as a team, to help make your child’s year in first grade is successful.
