My name is Linda Andrews and I am one of three fifth grade teachers at Houserville Elementary. I have taught in the State College School District for many years and I have been fortunate to have been part of the Houserville/Lemont community for most of those years. The other fifth grade teachers are Rebecca Lorantas and Katie Narber.  I am very fortunate to be working with two teachers who are extremely talented and gifted teachers.   By working together, we try to create an experience in fifth grade that maximizes academic growth while fostering a fifth grade community of learners who support and encourage each other.

I am very excited to be working with your child this school year. Fifth grade is the final year of elementary school and we want to work with you and your child to make it a memorable year. I want to make sure that I create an environment that both challenges as well as nurtures and encourages students as they question, seek answers, and share their learning experiences in fifth grade.   In homeroom, I teach Literacy (both reading and writing), Social Studies, and Science.  Math is a subject where we offer the students an opportunity to work with a different group of peers and/or a different teacher.   Your child may have me, Mrs. Narber, or Mrs. Lorantas for math.

Please feel free to contact me if you have a question, a concern or just need to let me know something. You may call me from 8:00-4:00 at the Houserville phone number, 231-5026. However, I regularly check my email and it is often the easiest way to reach me. My email is lka11@scasd.org
