1. Snuggle up and read with your child daily.2. Talk to your child about what he/she is doing in school. Ask specific questions: What happened in the book you read today? What did you write about today? How did you spend time with your friends today?3. Please help your child to clean out his/her folder each night. Place any papers to be returned to school in the folder.4. Encourage your child to use his/her allotted screen time to play educational games.5. Encourage your child to write and to share his/her writing. Create stories, write to friends and relatives, make lists, etc.6. Know your child's interests and guide him/her towards pursuing knowledge and experience in those areas. You never know where the spark of interest could lead.7. Become involved at Easterly Parkway. Get your clearances early so you can volunteer to help in the classroom and to chaperone field trips. The students and I love to have parents involved at school.8. Teach your child to be responsible for his/her words and actions.10. Remind your child that it's okay to make mistakes. As humans, we all make mistakes, and they can be great learning opportunities.
