My name is Maribel Gonzalez. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I graduated from Penn State with a bachelor’s in civil engineering and did my master’s in structural engineering at UIUC. After practicing engineering for a few years I realized my calling to be a teacher and decided to switch careers. I have lived in Gettysburg, PA for the past 7 years where I was a math teacher at a bilingual school. I’m very excited to be back in State College and to have the opportunity to teach STEM, a subject very dear to my heart.
