Hello, room 120! My name is Mr. Koudela, and I am extremely thrilled to be your third-grade teacher for the upcoming school year. Last May, I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University, where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. Some of you may recognize me as I spent all last year in Mary Macalus’s kindergarten classroom completing my student teaching. I had an amazing experience, and whenever the opportunity arose for me to teach at Ferguson this year, I knew I had to take it.
Besides teaching, I have a lot of other hobbies I like to do. I love being active and playing all types of sports, but my favorite two sports have to be football and basketball. My family is originally from Akron, Ohio, so I am a Cleveland everything fan (Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians). However, since I went to Penn State, I am still a Nittany Lion fan when it comes to college sports. When I am not playing or watching sports, I enjoy playing a variety of instruments, spending time with my friends and family, and playing with my two cats Roy and Cutie.
This past year has been a big transition in my life as I recently became engaged! I proposed to my middle school sweetheart at Park Forest Middle School, where we shared our first dance. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but one way we like to destress is by picking up a good book. I am excited to learn about what you like to read, and I am even more excited to be teaching you this year!
