Thank you to everyone who helped and supported along the way!PAUL SHORT RUN at LEHIGH:And the next morning we had ten girls travel out to Lehigh University for the Paul Short Invitational. This was our first time back at this venue in ten years. It was a great opportunity for the girls to get in some big meet experience on a fast course. While we may have been a touch tired from the festivities the night before and the three hour drive, everyone set a PR and the team had a top ten finish of seventh out of 33 teams. It was the same course as the Big Valley Invitational so the ladies were happy to be on a familiar course and be able to preview it one more time before we're there for the District VI Championships. We had great weather for the meet, everyone ran strong, and the ladies came away with the double win.See attached results.Yesterday at the PIAA Foundation Meet at the Hershey Parkview Cross Country Course in Hershey, the ladies successfully conquered the hilly course as they faced some top notch competition. All but three of our seventeen who raced had never raced on the course before so it was a really good opportunity to preview the challenging state meet course. In the Varsity Gold (AAA) race, the ladies placed 3rd out of 34 teams, easily surpassing the 9th place virtual prediction on MileSplit. Marlee Kwasnica paced the team as she placed 16th overall and earned a top 20 medal. And in the JV race, the ladies placed 5th overall, with Alex Antoniono and Devyani Wadhia both earning top 20 PIAA certificates.Great work everyone! Results can be found at the link below.INFO. It was a very challenging course but everyone showed grit and determination as they conquered it.Great work to everyone!Attached are results for the meet.Spiked Shoe Meet:And on Friday, the ladies ran at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational at the PSU golf course. It was a very exciting race with some top notch competition, including out of state teams, Ursuline from Delaware, and University from West Virginia. The ladies ran smart, competed hard, and were able to really attack the climbs of the final mile, better than any other team in the field. This resulted in defending their team title from 2019, the last time the meet was contested.Link to results: https://live.pttiming.com/XC-PTT.html?mid= 2358 A little info. on who the meet is named after:Did you know that Harry Groves was the legendary, long time coach of the men's track and field & cross country team at PSU? And he was coach Artie's coach when he was on the team back in the day. Sadly, coach Groves passed away in February of 2020. I know it meant a lot to Artie to coach the winning team at the meet that's named after his beloved coach.INFO FOR WEEK AHEAD:Home Course Preview, Monday, 9/13:The team will take a shuttle bus during practice to Circleville Park. The ladies will have a pre meet practice here while previewing the course for Tuesday's meet.If anyone would like to be picked up from Circleville Park, they may do so.
