One of our classroom jobs needs to be done outside of the classroom, and that job is “News Reporter.” This job requires the students to share some news with the class that they obtained from a reliable source. The news can come from a newspaper, a magazine, the internet, the radio, television, etc. There is a paper that the students fill out (entitled “Extra! Extra! Read All About It!”) and return to class by the Friday that they are “News Reporter.” On Friday, the news will be shared with the class during our morning meeting. We modeled how to complete the paper with a news article, so the students should be familiar with what’s expected. If you have any questions when your student is “News Reporter,” please don’t hesitate to ask.
