About Me!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Youmans and I am your music teacher. I teach music to students in kindergarten through fifth grade here at Ferguson Township Elementary and at Gray’s Woods Elementary.

I received a music education degree with voice as my primary instrument from The University of Georgia. I also have a Masters Degree in Children's Literature from PSU. I have taught music to elementary students in Georgia, North Carolina, and at Red Satchel Montessori School here in State College. 

I have lived in State College for more than twenty years with my husband, Chuck; our two daughters, Frances (24) and Hannah (22) our cat, Sally and our Miniature Australian Shepherd, Freddie. In my spare time I love to read, sing (of course!), hike, and travel to fun places with my family. In 2018 we visited Bremen, Germany where Frances was living as part of her college studies. Here I am visiting the famous statue of the Bremen Town Musicians!

  Here I am graduating from Penn State with a master's degree in Children's Literature!
