Meet Miss Allison Simpson, School Counseling Intern
Miss Allison is a school counseling student in the Master's Program at Penn State. She is working with Mrs. Myers as an intern 2.5 days/week but also works in our building as a support paraprofessional the other 2.5 days. Your student may see her in classroom lessons, small group sessions, and individual sessions and you may also see her in any meetings.
From Miss Allison:
Hello MNE community! I am excited for this amazing opportunity to work with Mrs. Myers, students, and families at Mount Nittany Elementary School. I graduated from Penn State
Altoona with a degree in Psychology in 2017. After graduation, I was employed as a counselor
with Pyramid Healthcare for a year and a half before becoming a Special Education
Paraprofessional with SCASD. For the past year, I have been employed with Mount Nittany
Elementary School working in Autistic Support as a Paraprofessional. In August of 2019, I
returned to Penn State University to obtain a Master’s of Education degree with an emphasis in
Elementary School Counseling.
I grew up in Centre County and graduated from Bald Eagle Area School District. While at Penn
State Altoona, I was a four-year softball collegiate student athlete. I am the youngest of three
with an older brother and sister. My hobbies include being outdoors, going for walks/hikes,
traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to spending time
developing relationships with all students and families at MNE!
