I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself! My name is Christina Williams. I am the Elementary School Counselor at the “new” Spring Creek Elementary. It is great to be a part of such a close-knit and welcoming community.

My passion for school counseling began during my time as a student at Lock Haven University where I received my bachelor of science degree in psychology. I then attended Penn State University where I earned my masters of education with an emphasis in elementary school counseling. While earning my master’s degree part-time, I was fortunate to work for a county-based family-based program in Bellefonte, PA. I have a total of 31 years combined private and school counseling experience, 26 of those years as an elementary school counselor.

What I love most about the elementary level is the genuine curiosity students have in their learning and the world around them, as well as the opportunity for early intervention support that can have a lifetime positive impact on a child.

As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students. I look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families, and community. I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom counseling lessons including the Second Step curriculum, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all Spring Creek students.

You may have noticed above that I put in bold and underlined the word, “ all ” students. Sometimes when the term “counselor” is heard, some may perceive that a counselor may only work with a select few students in a 1:1 counseling capacity, but that is not the case! When I do meet with students individually, it is only for a brief time, about 6 weeks, to provide support and access the student's needs.  If more support is necessary, I work with families to get connected to the appropriate resources.  I am here to advocate for all students. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call Spring Creek Elementary at (814) 231-5026. I can also be reached via email at [email protected] , at any time.

I am so excited to work with your children and get to know you throughout the school year!
