    5/6/20

    Dear Senior Students and Families,

Now that it’s May, we’re heading into the home stretch of this school year. Therefore, I’d like to provide you with an update with more detailed information about our final weeks as we lead up to graduation.

The commencement ceremony will be released on June 6 at 11 a.m. While this program will premiere that day, it will also be available as a free download so that you can keep it as a memento and watch it anytime.

To pull this virtual graduation ceremony off, we need your help. Next week, after you pick up your caps and gowns, students will receive an email from Marching Order asking for a photo, a quote and a brief thank you video clip. Please put your caps and gowns on and take the picture and record your video as instructed in the email. We really need the cooperation of everyone to finish the video in a timely manner so please upload your information by May 18.

May 11 and 12: Announcements/Cap and Gown Pickups

Curbside pick-up for announcements and caps and gowns will be held on May 11 and 12.  If you ordered both announcements and a cap and gown, pickup will be on May 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you only ordered a cap and gown, pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 12 at the high school back main office. If you need to make alternate pick up arrangements, please contact Mr. Johnson at the following email address cej12@scasd.org.

Lastly, we have had numerous meetings with the student Senior Senate and our high school’s PTSO officers to discuss all of our commencement activities given the restrictions of a pandemic. We have also appreciated the many individuals who have shared ideas via email during the past month. While a virtual commencement certainly is not anyone’s top choice, we are grateful for the input that we received from the students and our staff and look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2020 in the coming weeks.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Johnson

    SCAHS Principal
