I grew up in Williampsport, PA and earned a B.A. in Chemistry with a minor in Secondary Education as well as a minor in Political Science from Susquehanna University in 1999.  I also earned my M.A. from Bucknell University in 2005 in the field of Organometallic Chemistry.

I have been a teacher at the State College Area High School since 2019.  Prior to joing the State College family, I served as a teacher, advisor, and athletic coach in a number of school districts in Pennsylvania.  My teaching career began at Johnsonburg Area High School (1999-2002) where I oversaw the Chemistry department including the inclusion of both AP Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.  While at Johnsonburg, I was also the girl's tennis coach and the JV and Varsity Head baseball coach.

Upon moving back to the Williamsport area, I took a chemistry teaching position at Montoursville Area High School (2002-2011), and I taught various science content for Montoursville with an emphasis being in Honors Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Physical Science.  I was instrumental in the development of the General Chemistry curriculum while at Montoursville.  While at the school I was a JV baseball coach for 10 years and an academic advisor for the Class of 2009.

After leaving Montoursville, I took a chemistry teaching position within the Governor Mifflin School District (2013-2019).  At Governor Mifflin, I had the privilege of teaching course in AP Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Chemistry 1, and Science-9.

At home I enjoy sports (pretty much any sport), but I am most passionate about college football (I bleed Blue and White...We Are!!), baseball (Here We Go Yankees!!), hockey (Let's Go Pens!!), and the NFL (Lets Go Giants!!).  I also like to get out and hit the links and golf.  I am married and have two awesome girls that are in the State College school system.  I enjoy spending time with them and seeing all the neat things they are able to do as they grow up.

Make it a great school year, and if you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know!

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Hunter
