All students will participate in the following activities during study skills:
- Completing daily activities (study skills, employment, daily reminders)
- Gaining a better understanding of their individual strengths and needs, and in turn, how these strengths and needs relate to their own learning
- Researching and incorporating steps to meet their transition goals (college/employment)
- Developing their self advocacy skills
- Meeting with OVR (Office of Vocational Rehabilitation) counselor
In addition, depending on their specific IEP goals in relation to their area of disability, other activities may include:
- Progress monitoring of assignments and grades
- Development of organization strategies
- Assignment completion
- Clarification of concepts not understood in general education classes as long as student is actively engaged in the learning process
- Practicing study skills and test-taking strategies
- Opportunity for editing and proofreading of written work
- Reading strategy development
Within our room we have the following expectations for the students to meet:
- Be Respectful
- Be Present (no cell phones)
- Computers are to be used for school work only and will be monitored while in use.
- Working productively on school work or IEP/Transition goals.
