Focusing on the "big" ideas of mathematics, Connecting Math Concepts teaches specific strategies that enable students to master challenging ideas such as proficient computation skills of basic operations, adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators, time, elapsed time, solving basic word problems that require students to solve for a variable using the curriculums prefered method of mastering the concept of number families.
