• Fundraising

Fundraising is a crucial part of what we do as a PTO. All the money we earn directly supports your student! Each year we aim to support field trips for each grade level, purchase school supplies for all students, and sponsor community-building events!

The Park Forest PTO is an approved, tax-exempt charitable 501(c)(3) organization. This means that any money you donate may be deductible on your federal taxes.

    Major Events

Happy Feet Fun Run -- typically held in October

Students walk or run for a 15-minute period during the school day at a designated time. Students collect donations from family and friends and return them to school. A flat donation is collected for participating in the run, rather than a per-lap donation. There is also an online site for donations by credit card or Paypal.

Basket Bingo Fundraiser -- typically held in February

Basket Bingo is a family-friendly fundraiser held each spring. Each classroom chooses a theme and donates items to create a basket filled with themed goodies that can be won at the bingo night. We've also hosted a silent auction for family members in attendance.

    Ongoing Fundraising Opportunities

    Amazon Smile

At smile.amazon.com, the shopping experience is identical to Amazon.com with the added benefit that the Amazon Smile Foundation donates a portion of each purchase price to your selected organization. Visit smile.amazon.com and choose 'Park Forest Elementary PTO' to get started!

General Mills Box Tops for Education

We encourage our PTO community to participate in the General Mills Box Tops for Education program. No more clipping; box tops can now be submitted via a convenient app! The PTO encourages and rewards participation by each classroom. Search for Park Forest Elementary in State College, PA when you sign up.

    Giant Food Stores

The Giant reward is an easy way to raise money for PFE. Register your shopping card online or at customer service, enter our school code of 01500, and PFE will receive a percentage of the money you spend. For online registration, go to www.giantAplus.com. Results are posted on the Giant web site.

All parents and guardians of students at PFE and all faculty and staff of PFE are members of the PTO. We do not have yearly membership dues. Since we do not have dues, consider sponsoring the PTO by a donation.

    Scholastic Book Fair

These are held twice a year during conference days. They are a super opportunity for children to browse grade-appropriate books, choose a cool poster and talk you into a little gizmo at check-out! There are also some nice "adult" books on cooking, planning, childcare, etc. We receive books for the library commensurate with what we spend. The book sale is held in the Lobby.

    Spring Pictures

PFE students have two “picture days” – one in the fall and one in the spring. The Spring photographs are a PTO fundraiser and just having your student sit for a photo will help the PTO earn money!
