Meet Mrs. White
Welcome! My name is Michele White. I started my teaching career at Park Forest Elementary and luckily have been able to stay here within the State College Area School District. After graduating from Penn State University in 2000, I taught first grade for two years. After that I moved to intermediate and have been teaching third or fourth grade ever since. While I don't have a favorite grade to teach, I certainly enjoy working with this age group. I think the best part of my job is helping children learn and grow in new ways.
My husband Jeff and I have two wonderful children. Owen is 10 years old and will be in fifth grade this year. Mallory is 6 years old and starting first grade. We are very busy, but we are loving every minute of it! Family is very important to me. I have three siblings - an older sister, Dana, a younger brother, Joe, and younger sister, Mary. My mother is a retired kindergarten teacher, but I know she's still available to "talk shop."
School and family keep me busy, but I have lots of interests. I like to shop, draw, and read. I enjoy photography and organizing things. "Antiqueing" and interior design are hobbies of mine; I like to discover new uses for old things and decorate with them. Gardening and landscaping are ways I enjoy nature. I also love to vacation at the beach in the summer.
