One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things. -Henry Miller

Hello and welcome to room 119! I am excited to be part of the Blue Team at MNMS!
2019-2020 will mark my 28th year teaching. My past experiences include teaching 4th grade in York, Pennsylvania, teaching 3rd and 4th grade at Houserville Elementary, serving as a K-5 Elementary Curriculum Support Teacher in math and science, and teaching 6th grade here at MNMS for 18 years. I am also a "local" having graduated from State College Area High School and Penn State University.

My family includes: my husband Dave who is a hydro-geologist; my oldest son, Kohlton, who lives in San Francisco; my daughter, Emily, who is attending grad school at Columbia this fall; my step-daughter, Maya, who is a sophomore at Penn State; my step-son, Colton, who is a senior at State High, and our Great Pyrenese-mix rescue dog, Luna.

As you can see, my family loves to travel. We have camped throughout the United States, seeing many historical landmarks and hiking in many state and national parks along the way. My favorite states have been Montana, Colorado, and Oregon. I have explored Italy, France, and Spain as a People-to-People leader, and I have also visited Australia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Singapore, Scotland, Portugal, and most recently Grand Cayman this summer. Other than traveling, my favorite hobbies are reading, hiking, and skiing!
We also enjoy running a Bed & Breakfast in State College.
    And, I absolutely LOVE teaching!
