Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! I am looking forward to a wonderful year, perhaps our final in the Fairmount Building.
Since it is most likely our last I want to make sure we take advantage of our easy access to downtown. I also look forward to building strong, collaborative relationships in my classroom. I want to foster not only my relationship with students but also new connections between students. While academics are important, I believe relationships combined with skills are essential for success in school. I want to make sure a student leaving my classroom knows they are cared for; not only by their teacher but also by their peers, in addition to having the skills to keep track of obligations; prioritize assignments, formulate questions and evaluate and assess answers.
That is my philosophy of teaching... other facts about me are that I have two children. My daughter lives in Telluride, Colorado and my son lives in town. I love animals and have three dogs at home, as well as a flock of chickens and three horses. I love to read, knit, and spend time outside. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
