Welcome to the Gray Fox Science Website!8th Grade ScienceIn 8th grade science, each science teacher embraces the Content Storyline Pedagogy. The objectives for students is to describe and explain a natural phenomenon and build their own models and understanding of scientific principles. Supporting laboratory activities will be provided for the students so they are able to examine and refine their models each time new information is presented. Students will use Claims-Evidence-Reasoning to support their ideas in each lab activity. At the end of each phenomenon, students will be evaluated on their understanding and explanation of the natural phenomenon. Throughout the school year, we will build an understanding of the following topics: chemistry (properties of matter, atomic structure and chemical interactions), weather, climate, climate change, genetics and evolution.
