Hi Gray Foxes! I am Ms. Chessario (Chess-air-E-O) and I am very excited to be your science teacher this year! I have been teaching at PFMS for 18 years. I love teaching science. I am here to help you on your journey of learning the process of science. In my class, you'll do a lot of hands-on experiments and then, using those observations, you'll make sense of the world around you. This process will help you to learn science as well as sharpen your critical thinking skills, so you can use them in anything you do in life.

I am originally from Erie, PA and I moved to State College to attend Penn State (B.S. Meteorology, M.Ed. Earth Science). Prior to teaching, I was a forecast and broadcast meteorologist at AccuWeather. I still love to forecast the weather and I'll keep you posted on the storms we will see this winter. I have a lot of hobbies outside of school, including running, music and traveling. I run a lot of races and have run everything from 5Ks to marathons, but half marathons are my favorite. Although I am a teacher, I still love to learn. I am currently a doctoral student in education at Penn State.

I spend a lot of time with my family. My husband teaches 1st grade at PFE and I have 3 daughters. Two of my daughters are at PFMS: one is in 8th grade and the other is in 6th grade. I have a 3rd grader at PFE as well.
