    Advanced Cisco Networking 1

    The Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum provides an integrated and comprehensive coverage of networking topics, from fundamentals to advanced applications and services, while providing opportunities for hands-on practical experience and soft-skills development. The curriculum teaches networking based on technology, covering networking concepts using a top-down, theoretical, and integrated approach – from network applications to the network protocols and services provided to those applications by the lower layers of the network.

    CCNA Routing and Switching is designed for students with advanced problem solving and analytical skills. The curriculum offers a comprehensive and theoretical learning experience for analytical students, and uses language that aligns well with engineering concepts. Interactive activities are embedded in the curriculum, along with detailed, theoretical content. Advanced labs build critical thinking and problem solving skills and encourage exploration and research
     
     

    Advanced Cisco Networking 2
    Prerequisites: Advanced Cisco Networking 1
     
     Studies around the world show a growing demand for information and communication technology (ICT) professionals and a critical shortage of qualified candidates to fill the positions. Innovations such as social networking, cloud computing, e-commerce, web conferencing, and desktop virtualization are changing the way we live, work, play, and learn, and these capabilities are all powered by networks. The Cisco Networking Academy CCNA Routing and Switching courses provide the experience needed to help meet the global demand for qualified ICT candidates to design, install, and manage these networks.
     
     

    A+ Essentials/Technician
    Prerequisites: None
     
    CompTIA A+ Essentials measures the necessary competencies of an entry-level IT professional with a recommended 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. It tests for the fundamentals of computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism now required of all entry-level IT professionals.
     
     

     
    Security+/Ethical Hacking
    Prerequisites: A+ Essentials/Technician
     
    Security is one of the fastest-growing fields in IT.

    The goal of this course is to prepare students to take the CompTIA Security + certification exam. Students will learn about and demonstrate competency in the following areas: Network security, compliance and operational security, threats & vulnerabilities, application/data/host security, cryptography, access control and identity management.
     
    In this course students will get hands-on experience with creating secure networks/file shares, designing security policies, building virtual environments and detecting/patching security vulnerabilities. 
     

    IT Entrepreneurship (Geek Squad)
    Prerequisites: None
     
    IT Entrepreneurship offers an opportunity to experience working at an IT help desk, learning business management, marketing, and business start-up. Students will learn to manage, lead, and operate an IT repair business while building a resume through real-life experience. This is State High’s own “Geek Squad.”
     

    Microsoft Server Admin
    Prerequisites: None
     
     
    The Microsoft IT Academy Program is a college and career ready education program.  It is designed to provide students with the 21st century technology skills necessary to acquire certification and be competitive in today's rapidly evolving workplace.  Students will have the opportunity to take the Microsoft MTA Server Exam.
