Chad is entering his 16th year as a volleyball coach. During his 11 years as the head coach at State High, the team's record is 184-25 with 10 district titles and 6 Mid Penn titles. In that span, he has had the honor of coaching a number of girls who have gone on to playing at the collegiate level, some of which have been all-state, all-district, and all-conference players.
Chad is also the Associate Head Coach of the State High Boys' Volleyball program. He will be embarking on his first year in 2021.
His club experiences in various capacities have included time with Lion’s Pride, NVJ, Revolution, Affinity, and Relentless as an assistant and head coach, as well as Associate Club Director for Relentless. He also has been a head coach at the high school level for the last 12 years. Chad’s experiences have also included presenting at clinics for the PVCA and coaching PSU camps.
In addition to coaching at the high school level in the State College Area School District, Chad is also a Health/PE teacher at Park Forest Middle School. Chad has been involved with volleyball, whether playing or coaching, the last 25 years.Jim Gonder
Jim has been coaching for over 30 years as a head coach for the P-O Mounties. His experiences include 31 years as a softball head coach and 17 as a volleyball head coach. Jim's accolades between softball and volleyball include 3 PIAA state titles, 2 runner ups, 12 district titles, and 19 Mountain League titles. He was named PSBCA-PIAA coach of the year 3 times. He was also the 2007 USA Eastern Regional coach of the year. Jim's overall coaching record is 893-266, nearly an 80% winning percentage.Audrey McDonoughAudrey graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management from Lock Haven University in 2002, where she played outside hitter for the Bald Eagles. She has coached high school and club volleyball for 10 years. In addition to coaching with the State College Girls Volleyball team, she also is a head coach with the Horseshoe Volleyball Club in Tyrone, PA. She previously coached for Revolution Boys Volleyball Club and the Bishop Guilfoyle Boys Volleyball team.She also previously coached a Girls Keystone Regional High-Performance Team in 2013. Her team competed against the best national and international competition at that age level for a week in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Audrey is married to Brandin McDonough, also a volleyball coach, and has a daughter named Abigail (4ys old) who you will see frequently running around the gym.Tara NeidighTara is in her 3rd season as an assistant coach with the State College Girls Volleyball team after graduating in Spring 2019 from Juniata College. Most recently Tara competed for 2 seasons at Juniata College. Previously she played for State College High School with 3 of those seasons at the Varsity level as a DS/Libero for the D6 Champions and 2-time Mid Penn Commonwealth Conference Champions. As a senior Tara was named to the All-District 6 and Mid-Penn Commonwealth Conference All-Star teams and the Pennlive.com Big 15 2nd team. Tara has also coached various age groups for the Relentless Volleyball Club for the last few years.Joi McKenzieJoi is entering her 4th season coaching with her Alma Mater. Joi played middle at Eastern Michigan University after a successful high school career with the State College Girls Volleyball team. Joi has extensive coaching experience at the Middle School, High School and club levels at Penns Valley, Park Forest Middle School, Bellefonte High School, Revolution and Relentless.Todd HornerTodd is gracious enough to offer his services as our tournament director. We take great pride in running a very high caliber tournament and Todd is the guy behind the scenes making our tournament run smoothly. Todd has a passion to introduce young kids to the sport of volleyball and help them discover a love for the game. He has served previously in various capacities as an asst. club director, club director and both boys and girls coach for C3 Fire, Lions Pride and presently is the director for the Relentless Volleyball Club. Todd is the founder and director of Get Active! Inc and I Play Volleyball.
