Student Teacher Placement Requests

The State College Area School District has a robust student teacher mentorship program and we are happy to welcome the next generation of teachers into our classrooms to learn from our outstanding faculty. 

Below is important procedural information about requests for placement in our district. 

  • We do not accept requests from students. 
  • The college or university supervisor must enter the request for placement using our Student Teacher Request Form. Students, please do not contact building administrators or teachers directly to arrange placements. 
  • Our district requires an affiliation agreement with the sending institution. If we do not have an existing agreement, it can take up to three months to arrange a new one. If you have questions about affiliation agreements, contact Keith Dingwall, purchasing manager. 
  • Student teachers must have proper clearances and insurance as articulated in the affiliation agreement. 
  • Once we receive the placement request, we will respond to the university supervisor within two weeks if we are able to offer a placement in our district. 
  • We have a limited number of placements due to our high number of requests.
