Plagiarism and Research Resources
Plagiarism is the act of passing off as your own the words or ideas of others without crediting the source. This includes but is not limited to: taking passages directly from texts without quotations and/or citations; cutting and pasting from the Internet without quotes or citations; paraphrasing another’s ideas without citing the source; purchasing or downloading complete or partially complete papers and attaching your name to them; using AI generated responses and submitting them as your own, copying homework from another student (current or former). It is considered “self-plagiarism” to submit work for an assignment that you created for another course or in a previous academic year without the consent of the current teacher. Acts of plagiarism result in an appropriate consequence in accordance with the SCASD policy.
