Mandated Reporting
Mandated Reporting Procedures
All SCASD employees are mandated reporters under Pennsylvania law, and are required to report suspected child abuse immediately. If the child you would like to make a report on is in immediate danger, call 911 first, then follow with the report.
There are two ways to make a report:
- Make an electronic report using the the PA Child Welfare Portal. You need to create a Keystone ID account to make an online report. (You can register for a Keystone ID account even if you are not making a report, and it is recommended that you do so prior to making a report.)
- Call Childline (1-800-932-0313) to make a report. You also are required to complete a CY-47 form. You can type the information on the form and then print and mail or fax the report. The CY-47 form must be submitted within 48 hours to the Children and Youth Services office in the county where the alleged abuse occurred.
