Home and School Visitor

The Home and School Visitor is involved with a variety of activities, involving all grade levels across the district. The Home and School Visitor is particularly concerned with: absenteeism and the development of a plan to establish and maintain regular school attendance; serving as a liaison between parents and school personnel to create a home-school partnership.

Cindy Sergeon obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Glenville State College in WV and later went on to receive her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Marshall University in WV. Prior to coming to SCASD, she spent 9 years providing direct in-home services to at-risk families and foster care students, as well as 9 years as an elementary school counselor. Cindy joined the district in 2015 as the Home and School Visitor. She is also the Homeless and Foster Care Liaison, Child and Youth Point of Contact, and the one who oversees attendance.

School Social Workers

Our Social Workers assists with meeting basic needs, mental health and behavioral concerns, academic and classroom support, and consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators. Additionally, they may provide information about outside support services or agencies and resources to help students, families and faculty/staff. All three are licensed social workers who are able to provide individual and group counseling/therapy ethically at the school buildings.

District Social Worker

Morgan Bechdel, is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) that has a master's degree in social work. Morgan is also a certified School Social Worker through PDE. This position is involved with a variety of activities, involving all grade levels throughout the entire district. Morgan received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice at Lycoming College in 2017. In 2019, Morgan graduated from Shippensburg University with a Masters in Social Work and proceeded to get her Pennsylvania license in Social Work. Morgan has been with the district since 2019 and became a certified School Social Worker through PDE in 2023.

Secondary Social Worker

Lexie Wise is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who has a master's degree in social work. She is mainly stationed at the State High School, but also supports other buildings in the district. Lexie completed her undergraduate at Lock Haven University and proceeded to get her Master's in Social Work from Edinboro University. She received her license for social work in 2023 and looks forward to getting her school social work certification.

Delta/RIT Social Worker

Jessica Mayes, is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who has a master's degree in social work. Jessica is working towards her License in Clinical Social Work right now and anticipates having her LCSW soon. She is currently stationed at the Reclaiming Individual Talents (RIT) Program, but supports other buildings within the district. Jessica received her Bachelor's degree in Criminology with a Minor in Sociology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2011. She then went on to obtain her Masters in Social Work in 2019 from Walden University. She has worked with numerous populations, including psychiatric care, outpatient therapy and the correctional system.
