Substitute Employment Opportunities

Application Process

Looking for employment that has flexibility and provides the opportunity to work within the State College Area School District? Our substitute opportunities are as-needed and part-time, offering flexibility to meet your schedule.  We have substitute positions available for teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, bus drivers, nurses, and food service. If you hold a Bachelor's degree, you qualify to become a substitute teacher.

New employees will need current clearances (FBI, State, and Child Abuse).  Clearances are considered current if they are less than five years old and have at least six months before they expire. You also need a certificate of completion for the Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training. You can register and complete your training via the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center.
