Title IX Overview

The District is committed to the maintenance of a safe, positive learning environment for all students that is free from discrimination by providing all students admission, course offerings, counseling, assistance, services, employment, athletics, and extracurricular activities without any form of discrimination, including Title IX sex-based discrimination or harassment. Discrimination is inconsistent with the rights of students and the educational and programmatic goals of the District and is prohibited at or in the course of District-sponsored programs or activities, including transportation to or from school or school-sponsored activities. Additionally, the District is committed to the maintenance of a safe, positive employment environment that is free from discrimination by providing employment access, workplaces, programs, processes, and protocols without any form of discrimination, including Title IX sex-based discrimination or harassment.  Discrimination is inconsistent with the rights of employees and is prohibited at or in the course of any District employment-related programs or activities.

The District complies with federal law and regulations under Title IX prohibiting sex-based discrimination or harassment, other discrimination, or retaliation. Inquiries regarding the application of Title IX to the District may be referred to the Title IX Coordinator, to the Office for Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Education, or both.   

 

Designated Title IX Coordinator

In compliance with Title IX, the State College Area School District has a designated Title IX Coordinator (as well as three Title IX Deputy Coordinators) who should be contacted regarding any inquiries or questions regarding Title IX, including information on filing a Title IX complaint.
