COPPA - Children's Online Privacy Protection Act

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

The State College Area School District is committed to providing online learning resources. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a federal law that requires parental notification and consent for student use of district approved online resources for instructional purposes. The law applies to students under 13 years of age. The law also permits schools to provide consent to the collection of student information on the parent's behalf.

Parents/guardians of children in the district receive an electronic form during registration to obtain consent for students to access district-approved educational resources.

The district maintains the following list of approved resources. Please check back as this list frequently changes.
