GRADUATING CLASS OF 2021
Subject: Class of 2021 End-of-year Celebrations
Dear Graduating Seniors, Parents, and Guardians:
As we get closer to the end of the year, we’d like to provide you with some information on how we will be celebrating the State High Class of 2021. Although things may look different than in some previous years due to COVID-19, we are planning some memorable in-person events to honor our students.
Please find important information and dates regarding these events below:
May 24-28: Locker Clean-out, Textbook/Material and Device Drop-off (seniors only)
Students will be able to return their books, devices and clean out their lockers anytime during school hours. Devices (computer and power cord) need to be returned to the Computer Depot located near the cafeteria in room F144. Please note: If you are aware of any issue or damage to the device, let the IT staff know upon the return. For fully remote students, there will be tables near the entryway of the school for dropping off books and materials. If possible, fill out the book return slip and place it in the inside cover prior to returning your book.
June 1: Virtual Awards Ceremony
Seniors receiving awards and scholarships through the high school will be honored through a virtual ceremony on June 1. On the day of the ceremony, an email with a link will be sent to both parents and students who are being acknowledged. Recipients will be able to pick up their awards with their diplomas immediately following the graduation ceremony.
June 4: Graduation Rehearsal
Graduation rehearsal will be held at Memorial Field from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 4. All seniors are required to attend the rehearsal. Students driving to the rehearsal can park in the parking garage at the intersection of Beaver Ave. and Fraser St., or any of the neighboring side streets that permit parking. If you are unable to find transportation to the rehearsal, transportation will be available through the school. Buses will leave from the rear of the high school at 8:35 a.m., and return immediately following the rehearsal. Honor cords and commencement tickets will be distributed during graduation rehearsal. Any tickets that were not picked up at this time can be obtained at the ticket booth near the parklet (Northeast Corner of the stadium) on Commencement Day. If you are unable to attend graduation, please complete this form so that we can reallocate your tickets. If you are in need of additional tickets due to extenuating circumstances, please fill out the following form. Students who do not meet graduation requirements by June 1, will not be able to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 5.
