Meet Mrs. B
Hello! My name is Jamie, or “Mrs. B” and I am the autistic support teacher at Mt. Nittany Elementary School. I grew up not far from here in Danville Pennsylvania with my parents and younger brother. I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher and to help inspire children with unique needs to accomplish more than others think is possible. I currently live in State College with my husband Brian and 2 sons, 10 year old Braylan and 6 year old Layton.
I received my BS in Special Education from The Pennsylvania State University with Honors from the Schreyer Honors College in Communication Disorders. I then obtained an MS in the Autism Specialist program at Penn State. I began teaching at Woodside Elementary School In Glen Burnie Maryland in the MINC (multiple intensive needs class) and taught there for 7 years at which point my family returned to the State College area. I have been enjoying teaching students with autism spectrum disorders in the State College Area School District for the past 6 entering the 7th years.I am looking forward to having a wonderful year full of success! Please feel free to contact me at any time.
