I teach three sections of Physics 1 and two sections of Chemistry 1 at the SCAHS. Additionally, I have an educational business called Way Cool STEM Education to teach children in grades K-8 mechanical systems and computer programming through LEGO Robotics kits.  The program has reached 1500 students in the past five years through after school programs in Bellefonte and State College Area schools.  My summer program has reached students through Science U as the NittanyBots Camp. From 2011 to 2017, I taught chemistry, physics, geometry, and engineering courses at Grace Prep High School.  Prior to becoming a teacher in 2009, I was a Project Manager for PennTerra Engineering with a specialty in land development and subdivision design.

In 1993, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University in General Science and was a finalist to become the Nittany Lion mascot.  I earned a Master of Science degree from Utah State University in Environmental Engineering and completed my teacher preparation program through Western Governors University. In 2011, I was awarded a science teacher fellowship through Dow Chemical and National Science Teachers Association and have been a three year recipient of a professional development grant for math and science teachers through the Central Intermediary Unit 10 and Tuscarora Intermediary Unit 11.
