• Meet Mrs. Russell

Hello! My name is Rebecca Russell and I would like to welcome you to my first grade classroom. I am looking forward to the new school year and meeting all of my first graders very soon.

This will be my ninth year at Ferguson Township Elementary School and my eighteenth year of teaching. I am originally from Ohio where I graduated from Muskingum University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education.  I earned my Master of Science degree in Educational Development and Strategies from Wilkes University in 2015.  I have taught in two different states and three different districts, but I have only taught first grade.  I truly believe it's the BEST grade to teach because students learn and grow so much over the course of the year.

I currently reside in State College with my husband Chris, our children Hadley and Grayson and our dog Sunny. Both Hadley and Grayson will attend Ferguson this year so I have the privilege of being both a Ferguson teacher and parent.  In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports and games with my family, reading, walking my dog, traveling and working out. I also enjoy DIY projects, learning about teaching reading and learning about history.

This will be a year of incredible growth for your first grader and I look forward to being a part of your child's educational journey.

    Meet the Paraprofessional

Hello!  My name is Kelly Corradini and I will be the classroom paraprofessional.  This is my fifth year at Ferguson, but I have been a First Grade Paraprofessional in another school within the State College School District.  I graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  My husband and I have lived in the State College area for nearly 20 years.  We currently reside in Pine Grove Mills with our son, Cooper, and our dog, Bengee.  In my free time, I enjoy bike rides, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.  I look forward to a fantastic year!
