• Annual AHERA information letter

    To whom it may concern:

    In accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act, (AHERA, Public Law 99-519), the State College Area School District conducted inspections of all school district buildings for the presence of Asbestos Containing Building Materials (ACBM). In 1989 an Asbestos Management Plan for each building was developed detailing the location and condition of all ACBM along with short term and long term actions to protect building occupants. These plans were updated in 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and 2021.  These management plans are available for review by any interested person in either the school office or the administrative building at 240 Villa Crest Drive, State College during normal working hours.

    AHERA regulations require a reinspection every three years by an accredited building inspector.  The next triennial update will be in 2024.
