My name is Kate Glocke and I am the Middle Level Special Education Teacher at Delta Middle.
I grew up in Michigan in a very small town in the Upper Peninsula. I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Psychology and went on to graduate school at DePaul University in Chicago. While there I got my Masters and my certification in both Special and General Education. After graduation I stayed in the city and taught 7th and 8th grade in the Chicago Public Schools for four years. In 2014, my husband and I moved to State College so he could pursue his Masters Degree in Choral Conducting at Penn State University. This will be my 10th year teaching in Pennsylvania! I spent two years in Altoona as an Emotional Support teacher and six years at Bellefonte Elementary School as the 3rd and 4th grade Learning Support Teacher. I was hired at Delta for the 2022-2023 school year, and I am thrilled that I get to continue my passion for teaching at such a wonderful and supportive place!
My family and I love the State College community. My husband grew up here and is now teaching at Mount Nittany Middle School as the 7th grade music teacher and choir conductor. We have two very active kiddos! Gabe is 8 and loves baseball, Legos, swimming, playing baseball being outside, and using his imagination. Clara is 3 and she keeps us on our toes! She also loves spending time outside, dressing up as princesses, Bluey, and chasing her older brother.
Other than being a mom and teacher, I love to workout, craft, cook/bake, and read. I also love to watch sports– I am a diehard Michigan State fan (I DO root for PSU whenever they aren’t playing MSU, I promise!) and I also love the Green Bay Packers.
