Here are some ideas for caregivers especially for asynchronous Wednesdays:

•  Let kids try themselves. It’s ok if they struggle with getting to an answer. Try not to swoop in and answer. This is especially true as we move away from review and onto new material. 

• If you notice frustration/tears, please let your child’s teacher know that. There’s a fine line between struggling (builds grit) and feeling frustrated (over time can cause a loss in confidence).

• Know that in your child’s class, there are 20 or more students and they don’t receive immediate attention when they are stuck or have a question. It’s ok if you can’t give your child immediate attention. 

• Give yourself grace. We know remote schooling is challenging for our families.
