Sue Sheridan Fund

Who qualifies?

This fund was established to help students who lack the necessary resources for participation in SCASD activities, educational experiences and athletics. Any student K-12 who attends a school in the State College Area School District and has a a financial need may qualify.

What activity qualifies?

The Sue Sheridan Fund is all about helping those who would not have opportunities because of financial restrictions.  The Committee has provided assistance with field trips, intramurals, band equipment, enrollment fees, certification fees, sporting equipment, graduation caps and gowns and many others.   Partial assistance is also available should the fund not be able to cover the complete cost.

How does it work?

Students, who may have a need, can be referred to the School Counseling office.  A Counselor will obtain the required information, complete and submit a grant application on behalf of the student.  A panel of teachers, students, staff and community members will review the request. All information is kept confidential.

These panel volunteers are committed to provide funding whenever possible to K-12 students to participate in amazing activities, activities that create belonging and can inspire.

How can you help?

The Sue Sheridan Fund depends upon the generous donations of individuals and businesses in order to provide support for students.  Donations help State College K-12 students participate in meaningful activities beyond the classroom.  To donate, make checks payable to SCASD and note in the memo Sue Sheridan Memorial Fund.  Checks can be mailed to SCASD, 240 Villa Crest Drive, State College, PA  16801.
