STATE COLLEGE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICTKINDERGARTEN and FIRST GRADE REGISTRATION
FOR KINDERGARTEN: Children five years old on or before August 31, 2018 whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) reside in the State College Area School District.
FOR FIRST GRADE: Children must be six years old on or before August 31, 2018 to be enrolled in first grade for the 2018-2019 school year, unless they have, or will have, successfully completed Kindergarten, and written confirmation is provided from the Kindergarten program.The following two options are available for you to register your child for the 2018-2019 school year. This process does NOT include registration for a charter / cyber or private school.Option 1: Online enrollment will open on February 1, 2018. Information about the process and how to access it is available on the Registration website.
Option 2: Registration at the Student Registration Office, located at 131 W Nittany Ave, Room 100 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. You can download and complete the Registration form before arriving in our office.Documents Required for Registration
1. Proof of birth date (birth certificate or passport).
2. Guardianship & Custody Orders. Persons with legal guardianship or legal custody of a child must bring copies of the document(s) granting the guardianship or custody.
3. Proof of residency in the State College Area School District (deed, lease, or current utility bill for place of residence).
4. Immunization Records. Bring a list of your child's immunizations with you -- it can be a list from your doctor or a record that you have kept. A list of required immunizations can be found at: immunization requirements
Physical ExamPennsylvania School Health Law requires a physical exam for all Kindergarten students. In the State College Area School District, the exam must be done no more than 12 months prior to the start of school and may be done during the school year. The exam can be given by your family physician or provided by the District at no cost. The form can be downloaded at Private Physician's Report of Physical Exam.Dental ExamBy state mandate all Kindergarten students are required to provide evidence of having received a dental examination. An examination completed twelve (12) months prior to the start of school or anytime during the present school year will be accepted. This exam can be given by your personal dentist or pvideded by the District at no cost. The form can be downloaded at dental form.
