SCASD Named Best Communities for Music Education
For the eighth straight year, SCASD has received the Best Communities for Music Education award from the nonprofit National Association of Music Merchants Foundation. The honor marks the 17th time since 2000 that the foundation has recognized SCASD for its support for music education.

Kristen Albright Named PAECT Teacher of the Year
Helping students embrace failure en route to success underpins STEM education for Albright, who recently was named the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT) teacher of the year. Tasty Treats From Food Services Baker Jim Nolte
Baker Jim Nolte has achieved districtwide celebrity status, thanks to the weekly meal distributions to families begun last year. His chocolate chip banana bread continues to garner rave reviews on social media with tales of siblings fighting for the prized slices in the bagged meals.

During what they called their Caring Campaign, Spring Creek Elementary students recently made personalized fleece blankets meant to comfort children adjusting to foster homes.

Everyday Algebra, a State High math class focused on helping students in a new way, found an equation for success, and an acclaimed documentary company noticed. This short film highlights an effective effort to help students pass the state’s Keystone Algebra 1 assessment exam.
