Expanding Foreign Language Opportunities
A new foreign languages program provided elementary students with academic enrichment and intervention. Fourth and fifth-graders explored a language with three or four weekly 2-hour classes, choosing from French, Spanish, German, Chinese or Japanese.

Cello Choir Camp
For the first time ever, the State College Area School District music department hosted a cello choir camp. Over 60 students representing all schools in the district participated in the four-day program.

Tim Dzurko Leads Students to Success
As much as teacher Tim Dzurko likes seeing his students succeed, he’s also encouraged when they fail. That tells him he’s doing his job at Park Forest Middle School. For him, the mistakes signify that students are diving into complex projects, trying out creative approaches and overcoming challenges.

Pennsylvania State Board of Education Representative
This summer, Claire Chi will become one voice for nearly 2 million others. Chi, a State College Area High School sophomore, recently was named the next Pennsylvania State Board of Education junior representative.

Board Approves Interim Superintendent
The Board of Directors approved Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Curtis Johnson to serve as interim superintendent while the district searches for a successor to outgoing superintendent Bob O’Donnell.

Delta is founded upon building strong relationships between teachers, students, and families.
