  • Park Forest Elementary Opera Performances

    For a brief spell, Park Forest Elementary School’s all-purpose room was transformed into an opera house. Before a packed house of parents, grandparents, siblings and other patrons, fifth-grade classes performed condensed versions of four classic operas.

  • Middle Schools Shine in Technology Bowl

    A trio of Mount Nittany Middle School students bowled the field over at the Technology Student Association’s Region 8 competition and Park Forest’s Isabelle McSweeney topped the Prepared Speech field.

  • Easterly Parkway Helping Hands Fair

    Easterly Parkway Elementary School’s 13th Helping Hands Fair is a day-long event in which grades take turns completing activities at stations in classrooms, all as community service.

  • High Five Fridays

    A new State College Police Department initiative modeled after similar police programs nationwide. Each Friday, if they’re available, officers travel to a different elementary school within their jurisdiction and greet arriving students.

  • Ferguson Township Kindergarten Bookstore

    During teacher Mary Macalus’ kindergarten class at Ferguson Township Elementary, students browsed in support of an innovative writing lesson. After creating their own books, the kindergarteners turned their room into a bookstore.
