    Tutoring Center Information

The Volunteers in Public Schools program serves our students by offering no-cost tutoring/mentoring assistance. Parents with concerns can request a volunteer (usually a Penn State student) by contacting VIPS via e-mail at volunteers@scasd.org.

Our tutoring center, located in the High School cafeteria LGI, is open to elementary and middle school students as well as high school students. Volunteers offer assistance with math, science, history/social studies, foreign languages, English writing and communications skills, reading, and English as a Second Language.

Tutoring is offered on an ongoing basis only; no drop-ins, please. Once a student is signed up, he or she is expected to attend regularly and is responsible for letting us know in advance about having to miss any sessions.
