COLLEGE MID-YEAR TRANSCRIPTS
Please check to see if any of your college applications need mid-year transcripts. Most Common Application schools require a mid-year transcript but you DO NOT need to request one. Mid-year transcripts will automatically be uploaded to every Common Application. You DO need to request a mid-year transcript for any other school(s) that require(s) one. Mid-years will be sent starting Feb 1st. Penn State does not require a mid-year.

ATTENTION JUNIORS THINKING ABOUT COLLEGE: MARCH SAT Registration for the March 13th SAT exam is now in progress. The registration deadline is Friday, February 12, 2021. (Late registration is until Mar 2nd with an additional late fee charged.) You can register online at www.collegeboard.org. Practice booklets are available in the Counseling Office.

Nature-based Playgrounds Enhancing Recess
Innovative playgrounds were introduced this year at Corl Street, Radio Park and Spring Creek elementary schools, the districtโs newest buildings. โI love the new playground,โ Radio Park student Benjamin Herickhoff says. โThere are so many fun things to do.โ

Recently, the Park Forest Middle School Quiz Bowl and Quiz Masters teams coached by Lori Brown and Tom Kellander notched impressive victories in nationwide tournaments.

Aquaponics Raises Awareness of Sustainable Practices
Last spring, Jack Lyke launched his latest course, Aquaponics and Sustainability, with seven students operating two systems. In 300-gallon tanks, they raised tilapia fingerlings to grow lettuce, which they sold to faculty and staff.

State High Student Writes and Illustrates German Book
Andrรฉs Aradillas-Fernรกndez composed 20 fairy tales in German for his self-published collection translated as โTalking Mountains.โ Available through Amazon, his work was inspired by an Advanced German 4 class project.

Mordan Poised to Lead Career and Technical Center
Dr. Ben Mordan, the new CTC director, takes over a popular program that intends to keep rising. This year, 1,331 students in grades 9-12 are enrolled in a CTC or technology education class, representing 56 percent of the State High population.
